Newborn Inquiry

When should you schedule?

Newborn photography is ideally taken during the first 10 days of being born.  Because of this, appointments need to be scheduled way in advance.  In order to guarantee your appointment you must pay the creative session fee to hold your spot.  This will allow me the opportunity to plan accordingly.

What should you expect at your session?

Expect to be relaxed and have someone else share your joy in the birth of your new little one.  The beauty of custom photography is that I can come to you.

Expect to have the time to give your little one what he or she needs and to not be rushed.  When I schedule a newborn appointment, I allow for a minimum of 3 hours of quality time with you.  This means that you will have the time to nurse, comfort, and take care of your baby’s needs in the comfort of your home.

Expect to be warm.  In order to provide an ideal setting for artistic “naked baby” pictures, I use a convenient portable heater.  It can be toasty, but that is what babies need in order to help them sleep.  Babies do best when they have a full stomach.

Expect to have images captured that you will treasure for a lifetime.

Props & Preparation

From a mini studio to lots of unique and organically inspired props, I have everything we need to capture your precious one in an artistic way.  However, some people choose to have a custom hat or cocoon made for this special session.  If you are interested in having something custom made for your newborn, you can inquire about the etsy vendors I recommend in order to purchase something special.

Also, I love it when a parent wants to use something that is meaningful to them like grandma’s antique wooden bowl or daddy’s fire boot.  If you have an idea, let’s talk about it and see how I can incorporate it into your session.
