My favorite part of this session was that we played a lot. Often times, small children don’t like having their picture taken, or maybe it’s that life is too exciting and it doesn’t make since to “be still”. That’s ok! You don’t have to pose children to get great pictures with them. I love how this session demonstrates that.

I loved meeting with her before their session and hearing about what she loved about her girls. Beginning this year one new benefit we are adding to our sessions is a chance to meet in person before the session. I loved the fact that when we met for their actual session, it felt like we were already friends and not strangers. I think this one aspect is important. Their was an ease in the atmosphere that gave their session a level of intimacy that transpired into their images. I believe that this new move will provide more depth to the overall experience and finished product that we can provide. In the atmosphere of having a genuine relationship with our clients, I believe we can provide a new level of quality.

During her preconsultation, we discussed outfits and how to incorporate something that had meaning to her. I loved that she wanted to use a blanket associated with her late father. We were able to talk through her desires, learn what was important to her, and in the end create a session that represented her unique family and wishes. All of the planning paid off! She did an amazing job incorporating her color scheme around her daughter’s sweater that she loved.

Mark and Brooke, it was truly a treat to meet your precious family. I fell in love with Lanie and Sarah. And any time Lanie wants to go look for bunnies or throw rocks in the creek, you know who to call. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your family history!

We’ve been working extra hard around here creating some precious memories.  And here is just a taste of the sessions that are going to be featured here on the blog!

I am so grateful for all the new clients we have added that have upcoming sessions with us. Despite having our site down, we have been busy scheduling out through the end of the year. And if you click on the tab on our left hand sidebar called “bookings” you will see that we only have 2 more available spots for the rest of the year. Simply put, this is amazing!

I had a unique opportunity to work with Brian on an upcoming project that he needed pictures for. The goal and commission for this session was to create a portfolio that showed a variety of images that represented his overall nature from a carefree Starbuck’s lover to the uber smart and well dressed guy that he is. One of the fun parts of this shoot was getting to incorporate his beautiful dog, Buddy.

Beth was absolutely incredible and worked quickly with me to accomplish a tight deadline for my project.  Her calm demeanor made me feel relaxed and the locations she chose were great in expressing my personality and character.  There is no doubt she went over and beyond what was expected of her and there is little I could do to properly show my gratitude.  I have had countless compliments on the pictures and have sent many referrals to her due to her expertise.

How all the planning before hand made this session really come together. Mom and I met beforehand and discussed locations, what she desired, and what to wear.
Good planning can make all the difference in the impact that a final image has and assistance with detailed planning is something that we enjoy helping our clients with before every session.

My favorite image of this series is of the couple wrapped in a quilt looking at each other in an endearing gaze. They are not even aware of the camera and their love for one another in that moment moves me. It’s the kind of picture I would want of my husband and I. It’s priceless. These kind of images are a real gift to be able to capture. You don’t make them happen. It’s something that is within the couple. As a photographer, I always want to provide the kind of atmosphere and trusted interaction that allows these type of images to take place.

It blesses me to be able photograph real moments that are full of love and beauty for families. Stunkel family it was a real treat photographing you!

{What I loved about this session}

Newborn sessions typically take about 3 hours, because there is a lot of down time taken where we stop and take care of their needs. It is a needfully slow process. By having two separate sessions, I loved that we were able to incorporate more time with the family and capture their love for each other and for Ellia.

I love it when we can incorporate something that is special to the family like an heirloom. We used a beautifully knit blanket that one of her grandmothers had made.
